This is carrying forward my blog on alternative therapies and integrative medicine.
I have rarely ever consulted a doctor or visited a clinic for fever, cold, cough, minor cuts or bruises. My functional knowledge of Homeopathy and Bach remedies have never failed me. Headaches or any pain because of a fall is taken care of with a short Reiki session and Homeopathic remedies like Arnica, or Calendula. Even a good dreamless sleep is possible with a Reiki session. I tried studying Herbal medicine, and Ayurveda but was not very successful. The range of herbs is immense, and I get lost in them. And Ayurveda is an ocean of knowledge and information. After attending the introductory sessions, I persisted for a few months but did not have the dedication the subject asks for. At present I am reading and researching more on Bach remedies and Reiki which I want to practice actively.
Many in my family do not believe in Homeopathy, or any alternative medicine for that matter. Some repeatedly asked me to give some research or studies which proved the veracity of these medicines. But I have absolute faith in Homeopathy, and maybe that’s why it has always worked for me, giving me no reason to doubt its efficacy. My unbiased observation is, more than the medicine itself, the doctor you are interacting with, matters a lot, in all the branches of alternative medicine. I have consulted many Homeopaths’ who did me no good and have not worked for me. It is the faith in the medicine that pushed me to research and seek out other practitioners. Similarly, for Ayurveda and Bach practitioners, please don’t give up on the first doctor. Not all dentists are good and do excellent work, right? We don’t give up on dentists altogether, do we? Almost all cancer patients succumb to the disease, have we given up on all the learner Oncologists too? Many doctors have made wrong or delayed diagnosis, we have taken a second and third opinion but continued to keep faith in the profession.
Similarly, one failed diagnosis by a Homeopath or Ayurveda doctor, or any alternative practitioner should not be the decider. Explore more, please.
