Starting with meditation, Heartfulness gently helps us reflect on all the limbs of ashtanga yoga. As inner reflection increases and I focus my energies on improving myself, I realize the pivotal role of my Master in my progress.
My attention is now only on myself, my inner self. My mind body and heart need to be in sync, aligned and in a state of balance. With the help of dharana and dhyana the goal is to reach the absolute state, oneness with the source. As an extension of my first reminder, where my awareness goes, my energy flows, my other mantra is, as outside so inside. Manasa Vacha Karma, my body, mind and heart are aligned and speak the same language. Any dissonance between what I am thinking, what my heart is whispering and my actions, reflect my state of mind. The dissonance reveals my lack of integration between my inner and outer self.

Meditation generally starts with Dharana, a supposition. This supposition or sankalpa initiates the flow of intention with thought energy and direction.
As that intention moves deeper, diving into the field of experience of the heart, we move into Dhyana or meditation. The outcome is Samadhi, or absorbency in the object of meditation. And the quality of the Samadhi we experience depends on the field we create through this process of meditation.
Every morning, I fix my thought on my goal and meditate. Evening I clean myself, so that I don’t accumulate anything, because where my awareness goes, my energy flows, and my energies are to be used solely for my highest good. That’s of paramount importance. Before retiring for the day, I kneel in His presence, acknowledging that without His help my progress is impossible. I am dependent on Him, to help me retain my condition, with undeterred flow. At all times, my mind, heart and body are aligned and integrated conveying one message.
