Homeopathy and Bach Remedies

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

Homeopathy always fascinated me, but I did not have any big plans of pursuing Homeopathy as a career. But the whole premise of Homeopathy practice is intriguing, and same goes for Bach Flower Remedies too. As a Behavioural therapist I always looked for ways, means and methods to resolve any issue physical, mental or emotional without having to resort to Allopathic medicines.

The prolific use of medicines for any and every ailment alarms’ me and I have tried to steer clear from them as much as possible. Our new age mantra of instant gratification, immediate results make us live in a pill popping culture with no foresight about what the long-term repercussions may be. Getting a good effective Homeopath was also an uncertainty. And, the little I knew about this science, it emphasised not on the disease but the reason for the disease. In other words, the mental or emotional state which resulted in the said physical manifestation is the focus of a good homeopath.

Thus, began my journey. I started studying homeopathy just so I could keep myself and my children away from the tyranny of allopathy and to learn this fascinating science so that I could have better self-awareness.

I am going to put down a remedy and how it worked for me or the person it helped. Usually, Aconite is the first remedy mentioned. But I choose to begin with Lycopodium.

This remedy, also known as stag’s -horn clubmoss, comes to mind for digestive problems or sore throat issues. But I used this to resolve irregular menstrual cycle for a teenager.

As advised, I always study and understand the constitution of the person when I suggest any remedy.

The Lycopodium patient, although normally retiring and outwardly calm, is capable of sudden bursts of violent temper when things become “just too much” for her. They have a strong craving for sweets (this was a big tick for me!) and last, deal clincher was they are bossy with family members, but with others, they are very amicable and a little low on self-confidence.

I gave her only 3 doses of Lycopodium Clavatam 200CC, 3 nights in a row. And we waited. Lo and behold! By the end of the 5th day she started her periods and has been regular for the last 4 months. I usually consult the British Homeopathic website, the link to which is https://www.britishhomeopathic.org.

Any questions I can answer, will be glad to do so. Please put in your question in the comment box or contact us using the form on the site.
