I have spoken about holistic healing at length. I thought it may be helpful if I list out the different therapies and healing methods I know and have heard of, giving the reader some options to explore. I have also included some links as a starting point.
The common and more accepted complementary medicines are acupuncture, homeopathy, osteopathy, chiropractic, and medical herbalism. In India, Ayurveda also has a prominent position. Other complementary medicines which are gaining momentum are traditional Chinese Medicines, Bach remedies, and Naturopathy.
Among the non-invasive therapies or healing methods, Reiki is the most popular. It is practiced globally now. France and some parts of Europe also practice Polarity Therapy, Quantum Healing, Hypnotherapy. Among the less known methods are Crystal healing, Color therapy, Art therapy, RTT (Rapid Transformation Therapy), Logo Therapy, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and Past Life Regression Analysis. From what I have heard RT and NLP have many success stories. Simple concerns like phobia or anxiety can be addressed in one session itself, is what some clients have mentioned.
Chinese alternative healing methods like Qigong and Tai Chi are also popular. Not much research or study is available on the alternative therapies. These are not instant remedies though. They take time and give long term benefits, more like other holistic healing practices. Most are non-invasive and have no side-effects, so they can be tried without any fear or hesitation. Tai-chi and Qigong are very popular in Europe. With or without research , people who have embarked on the journey with faith and continued to practice for minimum 3months, having experienced the benefits firsthand, have recommended it to others.
Last but not the least, Yoga, if practiced the way it should be, under the tutelage of a wise mentor, can be the expeller of many known and unknown ailments. The foundation of holistic health and balance is made possible by diligent Yoga. The eight steps of Ashtanga Yoga begin with Yama and Niyama, and culminate in Dhyana and Samadhi, which is the path of every Yoga practitioner.
