Clap and feel better!

In the introductory series, Sourav Bothra, IITian turned yoga instructor, who I wrote about in my recent blog post, titled, Habuild - check it out, (https://www.healingheartfully.com/post/habuild-check-it-out), included a session on clapping therapy! It may not be of interest to everyone, yet for the one who might be interested and wants to pursue, here it is😊

This is also inspired by traditional Acupressure, and when we clap, these acupressure points, the different organs to which these points are connected get activated which eventually helps relieve pain and improve the health of organs like kidney, lungs, heart, digestive tract, pancreas, lower back etc.

As physical health gets better, mental health and well being also perks up and the practitioner senses a visible improvement in overall health and well-being.

Clapping is universally recognized, and we clap for many reasons, appreciation, boredom, to get attention.... It never occurred to me that the way we clap and the sound our clap emanates can have a meaning or reveal something about the personality of the clapper! Here I am not dwelling on the psychology side of clapping😊, but I am including the link to the article which the interested reader can dip into. https://spsp.org/news/character-and-context-blog/crawley-clapping-facts-insights#:~:text=Clapping%20is%20the%20action%20of,to%20produce%20a%20characteristic%20sound.

As therapy, clapping helps activate all the pressure points, which are connected to the seven chakras. Clapping helps in the rejuvenation of on mind and body. Some yoga practitioners advocate clapping to awaken the kundalini.

My dad has been practicing a clapping technique for some time now. He says it helps in regulating the blood circulation and the numbness in his hands and feet is improving now. We can do whole body tapping, or practice clapping and gain the same benefits. This is once again harmless, with no side effects, and I will encourage the readers to give it a try.
